Ovimex B.V. will boost the digital production of folding carton and synthetics as the first user of an HP Indigo 30000 in the Netherlands. Ovimex, who is already a familiar player in the digital commercial and publishing printing market, is set to launch smart business-to-business and business-to-consumer solutions for a broad range of short run or personalized products made from carton and synthetics. Located in Deventer, this move will support the company’s strategy to further merge its roles as a digital printer and a cross-media specialist.
The new HP Indigo 30000 will be installed in February 2018 to further develop the company’s folding carton and synthetics production. In addition to the HP Indigo 30000 press, Ovimex B.V. has an HP Indigo 5500, an HP Indigo 7600, and an HP PageWide Inkjet Web Press T 240.
“HP continues to meet our customers’ demands and has provided us with the capabilities to expand our client services,” says Frank Dijkman, CEO of Ovimex B.V. “We believe that using different HP technologies all under one roof offers us a unique position for the future, especially with the addition of the HP30000 and finishing equipment.”
Additionally, Ovimex will install a Tresu twin coater. The printed sheets will be finished in line with 100 percent water-based varnish and optional spot UV varnish. An offline dye-cutting press and folding and glue machine from KAMA will deliver a complete and perfect box or sleeve.
Ovimex BV was founded in 1922, and introduced its first digital printer in 2002. It is now steadily growing to multiple presses, including the latest upgrade from a Web Inkjet press to HDNA (Litho) mode. Ovimex is at the forefront of embracing and applying digital print, and provides the best quality in digital print including Inkjet, commercial print and packaging or synthetics.
The HP Indigo 30000 Digital Press is a market-proven, 75 cm format offset-matching sheet-fed solution empowering folding carton converters to capture high-margin opportunities and move to more efficient production. Adopted by leading folding carton converters worldwide, the press offers a competitive edge with zero setup, minimal waste, and easy versioning capabilities to deliver shorter runs and faster turnaround time.
