MUNICH, 30 April 2021: In a statement to date, Mike Blackman, Managing Director Integrated Systems Events said:
“We have today made the decision to cancel the ISE events planned for Munich and Amsterdam. Whilst we have had good support from both exhibitors and visitors who wanted to get together at a local event, new government regulations regarding COVID-19 in both Germany and the Netherlands have meant that we are unable to guarantee being able to proceed with these two events.
“Preparations for Barcelona and London are well underway as the governments ease restrictions in both Spain and the UK and remain on target for the successful return of events. We are looking forward to bringing the industry together and delivering a platform for those who wish to be there and that will be supported by key exhibiting partners, a programme of content and networking. These events will be supported by our online platform ISE Digital, providing our global audience with the opportunity to join us online.”
According to AV-Magazine, the shows in Barcelona and London will attract a slightly different public:
“Looking at the registrations, it was clear that Barcelona and London could have a different character. “At the Barcelona event, the audience looks very international. A substantial amount of those attending are from outside of Spain,” Blackman said.
But it was also likely that the Spanish contribution to visitors would increase from a low base, as ISE was working with local partners, including government associations, chambers of commerce and regional commercial zones. “Our attendance from Spain has only been about 3% in the past. That was a very small number,” Blackman added.
While most of the registrations in Spain so far were from the channel, the show was now attracting more registrations from commercial end users. On the other hand, “my feeling about London is that it will be more of a channel event although we will have some end users. That is the tendency at the moment but it could change,” Blackman added.”
