Canon announces name change from Océ to Canon Production Printing

Canon Inc. (“Canon”; head office: Tokyo, Japan; Chairman and CEO: Fujio Mitarai) and Océ Holding B.V. (“Océ”; President and CEO: Minoru Asada; head office: Venlo, the Netherlands) today announced the official change from the Océ company name, which is part of the Canon Group, to Canon Production Printing.

After becoming part of the Canon Group in 2010, Océ continued to develop and produce its printing products under its own Océ brand. By changing the name of Océ to Canon Production Printing, and also fully integrating the Océ products into the Canon brand, brand unity is created across all areas of the printing business. This also increases the synergy in the portfolio and thereby realizes a clear end-to-end market approach. The name change will take effect on January 1, 2020.
Since its founding in 1877, Océ has developed unique technologies for copying and printing. With the further integration in the Canon Group, Océ continues to develop its core technologies and increases the market share of Canon Production Printing. As a result, the growth of the Canon Group’s commercial printing business is accelerating worldwide.
Océ develops and produces high-tech printing systems and workflow software for the commercial printing market. The product range includes continuous feed and cutsheet printers for printing and publishing large volumes, as well as large format printers for display graphics and CAE / GIS applications.
