Adara Pakkaus grows in POP with Elitron digital, automated cutting

Finland’s third-largest corrugated-board manufacturer digitalised its printing and die-cutting processes with HP Scitex 15500 and Elitron Kombo TAV. Finland is a land of forests, and the Scandinavian country is the heart of the European paper industry, with top-caliber groups like UPM and Metsä Board playing a crucial role.

Adara Pakkaus is a spin-off of an important paper mill that has been located in the town of Valkeakoski, 150 kilometres north of Helsinki, since 1933. The Adara Display brand occupies a growing space in the great production ecosystem. For this reason, in recent years Adara has chosen to build a new digital printing department, based on HP’s inkjet printing technology and in particular on Elitron’s industrial digital cutting. Since 2016, it has included an HP Scitex machine, driven by Caldera software, and an Elitron Kombo TAV.

A spokesman declared: “Thanks to the automation of the cutting introduced by Kombo TAV and the possibility of working without an operator, we can also be competitive on a large number of pieces per order.” One of the advantages of digital cutting is the absence of a physical die, combined with the ability to start production of the first piece in a few clicks.
