Printers and suppliers from the majority of market sectors reported growing confidence in their companies’ economic performance. The opportunity was taken this year to track patterns of performance over the years. Packaging remains the most buoyant market and there has been a steady improvement in confidence over the five years amongst Commercial printers. Flying drops printing 2000 products per minute

At Label & Print 2018 in Zürich, Leibinger was recently presenting the flying ink drops: printing 2000 products per minute, or the JET3up industrial inkjet printer. At a bottling plant, a mineral water bottle speeds along a conveyor belt moving at 36 km/h. A few milliseconds later, the best-before date appears as if by magic on the bottleneck. This is made possible by Leibinger’s JET3up industrial inkjet printer, which prints up to 2000 products per minute with flying drops of ink. Information such as best-before date, batch number and data matrix codes have become an integral part of most products. The mood is high among the British. Their printing industry is fishing behind the net. The order for the after-Brexit passport goes to a French-Dutch company. Trade unions and a national newspaper are taking action to block this. Those high spirits in Britain are understandable. The island is just heading for independence from the EU, looks forward to reintroducing their own familiar blue passport and then it appears that 'their' printer seizes next to the order. The largest and busiest Integrated Systems Europe in its 15-year history drew record numbers of exhibitors and attendees from around the world for four days of business, education and networking at the RAI Amsterdam between 6-9 February. Throughout 15 halls, visitors experienced a vibrant showcase of the latest AV and systems integration technologies, products and solutions as ISE confirmed its position as the international destination of choice for AV professionals.
