Posted on: 19-07-2018

The Ghent Workgroup is inviting the global printing, packaging and publishing community to join them in celebrating 25 years of PDF – a quarter of a century of technical research, dedication and collaboration. Invented 25 years ago with office communication in mind, PDF has changed the way the global community handles file processing.  There were many steps along the way and development was slow at times but the key players who have brought PDF to where it is today are rightly proud.  Chairman of the Ghent Workgroup, David Zwang says, "This is a milestone for GWG.  It has been my privilege to be involved with the evolution of PDF from those early days.  It took a lot of developm [...] Read more

Quality paves the way to new opportunities

Posted on: 11-06-2018

For Frederik Möller and wide-format print service provider CCL in Hamburg, Germany, superior quality and perfect execution are what counts. He opted for a Zünd digital cutting system to increase productivity and expand the company's product offering. One of the first things one notices about CCL Hamburg is the enormous product palette. There is almost nothing within the scope of wide-format digital printing the company doesn't handle – from textile to films and vinyls, to wall coverings, canvas and leather, PVC, aluminum, as well as glass, plexi, and wood. As an additional service for its retail and wholesale customers, CCL also contour routes, finishes, and on request, [...] Read more

Departing to sublimation transfer?

Posted on: 03-06-2018

TTS notices that more and more printer manufacturers are departing from the direction they took several years ago. At that time, they decided to develop only 320-cm machines for the direct printing of textiles for visual communication (soft sign). Now they are reverting to machines that are suitable for sublimation transfer paper. This medium and the machines have been developed to such an extent in recent years that the benefits of printing with transfer paper overshadow those of direct printing. TTS is completely prepared for this development, and is introducing a number of new and suitable papers that have been tested on these fast, new, 320-cm wide transfer printers. The advantages [...] Read more
